Volume

In todays lesson we covered how shading can represent volume. We used photoshop to create a rectangle with a colour to transparent gradient to show how we perceive where the light is hitting off the rectangle before overlapping two circles to and seeing which circle we perceived to be closest to us and therefore discovering how overlapping shapes creates depth.

We then watched an episode of Adventure Time to see how they use volume in their animation before drawing our own characters in the Adventure Time art style using shapes, as shown in the image above.
